Commercial Wasp Nest Removal Musselburgh – Two Wasp Nests Removed from Commercial Vehicle
🐝 Wasp Nest Removal Musselburgh
Saltire Pest Control was recently called to a commercial premises in Musselburgh after staff discovered two active wasp nests built within a large commercial vehicle in the company yard. The increasing wasp activity had made it unsafe for employees to operate the vehicle, resulting in work being delayed until the infestation could be professionally treated.
Commercial premises frequently provide sheltered locations where wasps can establish nests, particularly around machinery and vehicles that are left stationary for periods of time. Prompt action ensured the business could resume normal operations without risking further disruption or employee safety.
Inspection and Identification of the Wasp Nests
On arrival, Saltire Pest Control carried out a full inspection of the commercial vehicle to determine the source of the wasp activity. Two separate nests were identified within the vehicle structure, both hidden from immediate view but with constant wasp movement around the access points.
The level of activity confirmed that the nests were well established and actively being defended by worker wasps. Due to the confined working area and regular staff access, professional treatment was essential before work could safely continue.

Professional Commercial Wasp Nest Treatment in Musselburgh
After assessing the safest treatment method, Saltire Pest Control applied a professional-grade residual insecticide directly to both nests. Commercial insecticides are specifically designed to penetrate the colony and eliminate the infestation efficiently whilst minimising disruption to business operations.
Once the treatment had taken effect and all wasp activity had ceased, both nests were carefully removed from the vehicle, allowing it to be returned to service safely.
Results and Benefits for the Business
The entire treatment was completed promptly, enabling the company to resume normal working operations with minimal downtime. Employees could safely access and operate the vehicle without the risk of disturbing aggressive wasps.
Early intervention prevented the colonies from continuing to grow during the peak summer season. Larger nests contain significantly more worker wasps and can present greater health and safety risks in busy commercial environments.
For businesses, dealing with wasp infestations quickly helps reduce downtime, protects staff and visitors, and ensures vehicles, machinery and equipment remain safe to use.
